21,1
The Rooster Gallery kindly invites you to the exhibition of drawings by artists represented by the gallery “21,1”.
Making do with the status of preparatory work, drawing often remained on the margins of artistic work and did not make their way to exhibition halls. However, on the contemporary art scene it becomes a separate form of creative work, an autonomous artwork rather than supplement and continuation of the main body of work. Fragments and sketches of paintings, as well as independent compositions, presented in the exhibition, unfold an entire variety of drawing techniques, present a concentrated reflection of the artists’ style, reveal the creative strategies, disclose sensitive intimate experiences and offer ironic commentaries on daily life and culture. The democratic nature of drawing and its wide technical possibilities allow for open and spontaneous visual expression and bold creative statements.
Compact space, the size of which is denoted by the title of the exhibition, is filled with dense, multilayered exposition, fusing individual artworks into one complex narrative.
Exhibition participants are Kristina Ališauskaitė, Raminta Blaževičiūtė, Tomas Daukša, Stasele Jakunskaitė, Eglė Karpavičiūtė, Alina Melnikova, Auksė Miliukaitė, Vita Opolskytė and Andrius Zakarauskas.
Before the major holidays of the year, contemporary art galleries all over the world traditionally hold exhibitions of small-scale works and offer them for sale at an affordable price, thus encouraging not only to expand (or perhaps start) your art collection, but also to buy an exceptional Christmas present for your dearest art lovers. “The Rooster Gallery” carries on the tradition and organizes the exhibition of drawings for the second time.
