ArtVilnius 2020
On 2–4 October 2020, The Rooster Gallery takes part in the international contemporary art fair ARTVILNIUS’20. The newest works by the gallery’s represented artists Raminta Blaževičiūtė, Tomas Daukša, Eglė Karpavičiūtė, Vytautas Kumža, Alina Melnikova, Auksė Miliukaitė, Vita Opolskytė and Andrius Zakarauskas will be presented at the exhibition.
This year the gallery pays tribute to art events – local and international exhibitions, contemporary art fairs – that were cancelled due to the pandemic. The display will feature fragments of the gallery exhibitions that were planned yet not realized because of the situation in the world and restrictions of cultural life, such as postponed Art Dubai art fair, cancelled shows in Seoul (South Korea) and in Vilnius. In addition to them, references to the opened exhibition are presented, summarizing the activity of the gallery during this year. So separate exhibition narratives fuse into a multilayered creative panorama, together with the usual themes and individual artistic research, conveying mutual feeling of changes in the art world and reveals contexts of complicated new reality.
